We are located in the heart of the beautiful North Dordogne countryside. There are lots of other activities locally including:

Walking: There is a great network of paths which can be accessed from the lake. There should be a map in the apartment. If not, one can be obtained from the Mayors Office (Mairie) in Saint Saud Lacoussiere.

Grant Etang: This leisure lake is a 20 minute walk/2 minute drive and has a beach, swimming zone, picnic area, play area etc. There is a small kiosk which sells drinks/snacks in the summer as well as the restaurant (La Pailotte).

Piegut-Pluviers Market: Largest market in the region which is held every Wednesday morning. 15-20 minute drive from the lake.  Can get very busy in the summer so best to get there early. Other markets locally include Brantome (Friday) and Periguex (Saturday).

Brantome: Beautiful riverside town known as the Venice of the Dordogne. Good range of shops, excellent restaurants etc. Approximately 30 minutes from the lake. http://www.francethisway.com/places/brantome.php

Periguex: Capital of the Dordogne. Interesting historic city with excellent range of shops, cafes, restaurants etc. Approximately 1 hour from the lake. http://www.francethisway.com/places/perigueux.php
